Reuters - The Senate on Wednesday passed a $149 billion package of jobless aid and tax breaks, as Democrats continued efforts to lower the 9.7 percent unemployment rate before congressional elections in November.

AP - United Airlines has made a firm order for 25 of Airbus' A350 extra-wide bodied jets, fulfilling a commitment signed in December, the European aircraft manufacturer said Wednesday.

AP - Oil settled above $82 on Wednesday after rising as high as $83. Prices got a bump in morning trading following the government's weekly crude inventory report, which showed a smaller increase in supplies than expected. Prices also got some support from OPEC raising its outlook for world oil demand.

Reuters - Wal-Mart Stores Inc has put roughly 300 items back on its U.S. store shelves after the retailer said it "disappointed" customers by not stocking certain products.
